Counselling provides a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where people can talk through life’s challenges, emotions, relationships, stress, anxiety, grief, or personal struggles. A counsellor helps individuals explore their thoughts and feelings, gain insight, and develop healthy coping strategies and personal growth.
Christian counselling includes many of the same counselling approaches and therapeutic techniques, but also gently incorporates faith and biblical encouragement when desired by the client. Christian counselling recognises the importance of emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing together.
At CCP – Christian Counselling & Prayer, we offer person-centred support where you are treated with compassion, respect, and care. Prayer, scripture, and faith-based guidance are always optional and can be included at your comfort level. Whether you are seeking emotional healing, spiritual support, or simply someone safe to talk to, our goal is to walk alongside you with empathy, hope, and encouragement.
The number of counselling sessions can vary depending on the individual, the challenge being faced, and the level of support needed. For many people working through one specific challenge, around 4–6 sessions can often provide helpful support, insight, and practical strategies.
Some people may feel supported in fewer sessions, while others may benefit from ongoing counselling for deeper healing, personal growth, or more complex situations. There is no pressure or obligation to continue beyond what feels right for you.
At CCP sessions are person-centred and tailored to your individual needs and goals. We aim to provide a safe, supportive, and compassionate space where you can move at your own pace toward hope, healing, and restoration.
At CCP our goal is to make support more accessible and affordable for people who may be struggling emotionally, spiritually, or financially.
We are able to provide lower prices because sessions are offered through telehealth (telephone or video), which helps reduce overhead costs such as office expenses and travel-related costs. These savings can then be passed on to our clients, allowing counselling to remain more affordable without compromising care and support.
CCP also does not charge extra for prayer or biblical encouragement. If clients would like faith-based support included in their sessions, this is offered freely as part of the counselling process and always at the client’s comfort level.
Person Centred Therapy is a gentle and supportive counselling approach that focuses on you as the individual. It provides a safe, non-judgemental, and compassionate space where you can openly talk about your thoughts, feelings, experiences, and challenges.
Rather than telling you what to do, Person Centred Therapy encourages self-awareness, personal growth, and healing by helping you explore your emotions at your own pace. The counsellor walks alongside you with empathy, understanding, acceptance, and respect.
At CCP – Christian Counselling & Prayer, we believe every person has value, purpose, and worth. Our goal is to create a caring environment where you feel heard, supported, and emotionally safe. Faith, prayer, and biblical encouragement can also be included if desired, but are always optional and guided by your comfort level.
Person Centred Therapy can support people through anxiety, stress, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, emotional pain, life transitions, and spiritual struggles by helping individuals reconnect with hope, healing, and inner strength.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a practical and supportive counselling approach that helps people understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are connected. Sometimes negative thinking patterns can affect emotions, relationships, confidence, and daily life without us even realising it.
CBT works by helping individuals identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier, more balanced ways of thinking. This can lead to positive changes in emotions, behaviours, and overall wellbeing.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can be helpful for people experiencing anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, fear, worry, depression, relationship difficulties, or overwhelming life challenges. It also provides practical tools and coping strategies that people can use in everyday life.
Creative Arts Therapy is a gentle and expressive therapeutic approach that uses creativity to help people explore emotions, thoughts, experiences, and personal challenges in a safe and supportive way. Sometimes it can be difficult to put feelings into words, and creative activities can provide another way to process emotions and encourage healing.
Creative Arts Therapy may include activities such as drawing, painting, journalling, music, creative expression, mindfulness, or other hands-on activities that support emotional wellbeing and self-expression. No artistic skill or experience is needed — the focus is on the process of expression and healing, not on creating perfect artwork.
This approach can be especially helpful for children, teenagers, and adults who may feel overwhelmed, anxious, stressed, emotionally stuck, or unsure how to express what they are feeling.
Therapeutic Journalling is a gentle self-reflection practice that uses writing to help people process thoughts, emotions, experiences, and personal challenges. It provides a safe and private space to express feelings, gain clarity, reduce emotional overwhelm, and better understand what may be happening internally.
Journalling can help individuals slow down, reflect on their experiences, recognise thought patterns, release emotions, and explore personal growth and healing. It may include writing about feelings, gratitude, life experiences, goals, prayers, reflections, or guided prompts provided during counselling sessions.
There is no “right” or “wrong” way to journal. The focus is not on perfect writing or grammar, but on honest expression and emotional wellbeing.
Therapeutic Journalling can be especially helpful for people experiencing stress, anxiety, grief, emotional pain, low self-esteem, life transitions, or spiritual struggles. It can also support mindfulness, self-awareness, and healing between counselling sessions.
Prayer Counselling is a supportive and faith-based approach that combines counselling with prayer, spiritual encouragement, and compassionate listening. It provides a safe and non-judgemental space where individuals can talk through emotional, personal, relational, or spiritual challenges while also inviting God into the healing process if they choose.
Prayer counselling recognises that people may experience struggles emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
Alongside therapeutic support, prayer can bring comfort, peace, hope, encouragement, and a deeper sense of connection with God during difficult seasons of life.
At CCP, prayer is always optional and guided by the client’s comfort level. Some clients may simply want a safe space to talk, while others may desire prayer, biblical encouragement, scripture reflection, or faith-based support as part of their counselling journey.
Prayer Counselling may help individuals who are experiencing anxiety, stress, grief, relationship difficulties, emotional pain, identity struggles, spiritual questions, or life transitions. Our goal is to walk alongside each person with compassion, empathy, encouragement, and care while supporting emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
Soaking is a quiet and reflective spiritual practice that involves resting peacefully in God’s presence through prayer, worship music, stillness, and personal reflection. It is often used as a way to slow down, release stress, calm the mind, and create space for emotional and spiritual renewal.
Absolutely. Many people come with doubts or questions, and that’s completely okay. Christian counsellors create a safe, non-judgmental space where exploration and healing can happen—regardless of where you are spiritually.
Prayer is only included with your permission and tailored to your comfort level. It may be used to open the session, invite spiritual wisdom, or support emotional breakthroughs in moments of deep struggle.
Currently clients can access secure online sessions via telehealth (video or phone), making support accessible no matter your location. Unfortunately face to face appointments are not available at this time.
